Orlando Magic Rashard Lewis, Suspended 10 games.

Before reading this story I only knew that Orlando Magic Rashard lewis got a 10 game suspension for violating the leagues drug policy but I did not know the whole story behind his suspension.
NBA star foward Rashard Lewis of the Orlando Magic, will not be playing/receiving salary the first 10 games of the NBA regular season due to a suspension he received back last month from a failed drug test. It was a performance-enhancing drug which sources said was DHEA. He released a statement right after the suspension, saying: "First and foremost I take full responsibility for the situation and accept the corresponding penalty," Lewis said. "I apologize to Magic fans, my teammates and this organization for not doing the research that should come with good judgment."

After reading this story my views changed on Mr. Lewis but he's human and makes mistakes like all of us. My hope for the future is that more professional athletes maintain more integrity for their game and foremost for their health.

  1. I'm not sure if that's a legitimate punishment or not. At least he is taking full responsibility for his actions.

  3. Well i mean it was an over the counter drug that he used. I follow basketball very hard, and I like the Magics. So hearing about one of their star players doing something as ignorant as this just blew my mind. I myself am a san antonio fan so maybe losing him will help us out if we play the Magics in our first 10 games.

  4. He know's what he did, and he knows what he did was wrong. The question is, is missing out on 10 games justifiable without pay? I know NBA stars get paid alot but dont they have a family too? dont they got high bills to pay? why not just make him pay a fine to the NBA or somethin.
